Freda Eileen Pitt passed away on February 28, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born on February 11, 1940 to Johnnie and Mildred (Thompson) True in Anness, Kansas. Freda was a woman of many talents and her hobbies included sewing, canning, quilt making, refinishing and reupholstering antique furniture, gardening, and collecting Hull pottery. She was also dedicated to her job, working as a secretary at OPUBCO for 20 years.
Freda is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Mildred True; husband, James A. Pitt; sisters, Wanda Martin of Norwich, KS, and Vivian Chalfant of Garden City, KS. She is survived by her partner of 23 years, William (Bill) Hall of the home; children, Sandra Grubb of Oklahoma City, Rick Grubb and wife Lori of Mobile, AL, Joshua Pitt of Blanchard, Damien Pitt of Oklahoma City, Jimmy Pitt of Oklahoma City, Sunny Dawn Galaway of Norman, Eric Pitt and wife Jennifer of McKinney, TX; sister Janet Piercy of Kansas City; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, and Gladys Ukena and husband Tom of Kansas, a niece that was like a sister.
Visitation for Freda will be on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Services will be Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel located at 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
