

Gavin Thompson Blair, 87 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away August 6, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Born October 26, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of James and Christine (Guthrie) Blair. Gavin was a longtime finish carpenter who was very skilled in woodworking and carpentry. He was proud to have served during WW II as a Merchant Marine helping to ship goods all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert Blair and James Blair, Jr.; and 1 brother-in-law, John Jones. Survivors include his wife Thelma Blair of the home; 3 daughters, J. R. Blair; Chris Blair; and Guyann and her husband O.J. Lindly; 9 grandchildren, Alicia Webb; Tony Webb; Jay Lindly; Laura Lindly; Octave Lindly; Elizabeth Grant; Tom Parash; Matthew Grant; and Shante Faagai; 10 great-grandchildren, Jay Lindly, Jr.; Julia Lindly; Kaitlyn Yandell; Alexander & Jackson Lindly; Rachel & Mitchell Wallis; Lanaya Webb; Sarina Webb; and Gavin Grant; 2 sisters, Christine Jones and Jean and her husband Vic Rohrer; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK 73115.
