Georgia M. Butler, age 89, of Del City, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019. Georgia was born on Dec. 17, 1929 in Marlow, Okla. to Laura and Jesse Johnson. In 1946 Georgia married Glen T. Butler. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 47 years, raising a family and making a lifetime of memories. In 2001 Georgia married William S. Holt. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 9 years with lots of laughter and dancing.
Georgia had many loves, interests and accomplishments. She loved God. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She loved to socialize, sing and dance. Georgia’s interests included: painting, working crossword puzzles, playing games/cards/dominos, music, playing the piano/organ/guitar, bowling, camping and traveling. She enjoyed learning new things and took classes in Spanish, painting and dancing. Her accomplishments were many: wife, mother, Meme, homemaker extraordinaire, seamstress, great cook, hair stylist and volunteer. Georgia was young at heart and never lost her sense of humor or wonder. She was a gift from God. She loved and she was loved.

A celebration of Georgia’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 07, 2019, at the Midwest City Senior Citizen Center, 8251 East Reno, MWC. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you give someone a hug. Georgia was a great hugger.
