Gerald was born on September 27, 1947 to Kelly and Mattie Lee Bromley in Marlow, OK. He graduated from Del City High School in 1965 and the University of Central Oklahoma in 1975. On May 12 1967 he wed his high school sweetheart Linda McGehee and they were married for over 44 years.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Linda of Del City, OK; son, Gerald Bromley Jr. and wife Lora; grandsons, Gerald Bromley III and Kelly Bromley of Gardner, KS; sister, Patricia Hastings of San Antonio, TX and a wealth of family and friends.
He loved sports, especially Sooner football, and all types of electronic gadgets. One of his greatest enjoyments was the banquet. He loved a hearty feast and the festivities of being with family and friends. Even towards the end he continued to worry more about those around him than himself. Throughout his life he strived to pass on his wisdom and knowledge to his son and grandsons. His wealth of knowledge was extensive but, his time ran short.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the New Beginning Family Baptist Church, 1720 S. Bryant, Del City, OK 73115. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to any hospice organization in your area.
