Gerald (Jerry) Sims, 69, was born in Okla. City on Feb. 1, 1938 & passed from this life after a courageous struggle with illness on Dec. 16, 2007. He was loved by everyone that knew him & will be greatly missed by family & friends. After 24 years of service for his country, he retired as a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force. He was an avid sports fan, NASCAR car buff, & dog lover. Jerry was preceded in death by his Mother, Genevieve Wyatt & sister, Karen Hugghins, (Wyatt). He is survived by his father, J. Brian Wyatt of Okla. City, brother & best friend, Darrell Wyatt & wife Sheren, sister, Sandy Peters & husband Chris, 3 children whom he loved very much, Eddie & wife Karen, Becky, April & husband Ron, life time friend Pat Fifer, 4 grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Brian & Aimee, & 3 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Thomas, & Stephanie, all of Springfield, MO, & many nieces, nephews & friends. Services will be Dec. 18, 2007 at 3:00 PM at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel.
