

Glorious Blossom Bird, 95, a longtime resident of Del City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 23, 2017. Born on February 22, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edward and Gudrun (Giese) Kingbay. For many years, she worked as a secretary on Tinker Air Force Base.
Glorious was a woman of many talents; a writer, painter, Sunday school teacher, speaker, and a gardener. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who nurtured her family with the love of Christ, disciplined them with care and wisdom, and trained them in the way they should go, while instilling valuable life lessons to live by. She created a legacy that will be passed down through generations.
Glorious was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Bird; daughter, Harriett Akin. She is survived by her sons, Larry Collins, Samuel Collins and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Robin, Cindy, Richard, Christy, Robert, Shawn, Tim, Cassie; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great great- grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The family wishes to give a very special thanks to the staff of Good Journey hospice.
