Harold Lloyd Nipps left this earth on March 12, 2024, surrounded by his daughter, Kay and son-in-law James at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 97, just 12 hours short of his 98th birthday.
Harold was a World War II Navy Veteran and served his two year term of enlistment in the Philippines. He married the love of his life on May 24,1946. They were married 74 years, until her passing on August 15, 2020, in their home in Del City, Oklahoma.
Harold was the oldest of four children born to Albert and Grace Nipps on their farm in Warm Springs, Arkansas. Harold's siblings were Weldon Nipps (deceased),Earline, Genendal Hale (deceased) Rex, Colleen (Zack) Lawhon and many nieces and nephews.
Harold is survived by his two children, Kay (James) Bartell of Del City, Oklahoma and Randy (JoCarol) Nipps of Old Hickory, Tennessee. Seven grandchildren, Brett (Kathleen) Johnson, Kent Johnson, Tara (Rey) Vasquez, Josh (Hayley) Nipps, Jason (Kayla) Nipps, Justin (Melissa) Nipps, Jonathan (Tasha) Nipps. He also had fifteen (15) great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Harold will be remembered as a man who loved his wife, Esther, and missed her everyday after she passed. He loved his family and was always wanting them to come see him. He liked music, especially Christian and Country. He and Esther would sing and play their guitars at various gatherings until Esther passed and his health failed. He also used to be actively involved in the Ridgecrest Church of Christ until he was not able to do anything due to failing health. He was always ready to play cards with friends and family any chance he could get anyone to play with him. He loved Joker, 5 Crowns, and Skip-Bo.
He was a big teaser who loved to joke and pick on his grandsons and great grandkids. He will be missed and he loved the Lord.
