

Helen Frances Pruitt (Frankie), 89, entered into rest on January 27, 2011. She was born July 22, 1921 in Keystone, OK, and grew up in Cleveland, OK. Frankie was the daughter of John Oscar Harp and Cora Alice Shaeffer Harp. She married Forest Pruitt in 1942 before he was drafted into the army. She began working as a child, picking cotton with her mother. Throughout her life she had many jobs including waitress, diner cook, dress shop manager, home daycare owner, and as a teen she babysat for football great, Billy Vessels. She became an interior decorator when Forest became a homebuilder. Forest and Frankie were able to travel to many parts of the world and enjoyed sharing stories of their adventures with family and friends. She was a member of the Church of God (Seventh Day). She loved children and taught Sabbath School for many years. Frankie was always willing to help in any situation and worked hard all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Forest; her parents, one brother, Isaac, and a sister, Pearl. Survivors include her sons: Jim Pruitt and wife, Norma, and Dave Pruitt and wife, Ruthray; grandchildren: Stephanie Overman and husband, Jason; Denise Batsel and husband, Michael; Justin Pruitt and wife, Amy and Jeremy Pruitt; great grandchildren: twins, Michael and Madison Batsel; twins, Isaac and Tabitha Overman, and Addison Pruitt; sister, Ruth Guynn and many nieces and nephews. Frankie enjoyed sewing, yard work, was a great cook and was always the consummate hostess. She and her chocolate pies will be missed by many. The family would like to thank Excel Hospice for their brief, but compassionate and loving, care giving to Frankie.

Frankie’s funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Feb 3 at the Sunny Lane Chapel with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
