

Helen Marie Sapp passed into glory on December 3, 2019 after a long fight with cancer. Ultimately she was the victor in Jesus, her blessed Saviour. Her faith in Jesus Christ and her hope for heaven gave her a peace through the illness and hard times that always left her smiling and trusting in The Lord. She was a wonderful example to her family and friends of walking with Jesus.
Helen was born to Otto O. and Oreda Hannah Lautenschleger Miller in Millersburg, OH on April 27, 1938. She was one of 9 children who grew up in Amish country there in Holmes County. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1956 where she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Sapp, and were married for over 20 yrs before he passed away at the young age of 42. They had three children- Liz, Bill and Cheryl. Bob was in the Air Force and throughout his military career, they traveled the world living in England and Turkey as well as many stateside duty stations. Helen was a marvelous hostess and wonderful mother who could stand on her own holding down the fort as Bob was away on TDY so often. She was an amazing woman and friend to all. She was a member of Sooner Baptist Church in Midwest City, OK. She loved her family and friends and loved to read, play games and travel.
Helen is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Steve) Kelly of Oklahoma City, OK, William A Sapp of Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl L Sapp of Greenville, SC; Grandchildren…Robert (Amber) Cromack, Orrin Cromack; Frank Cromack, David Cromack, Karissa (Kevin) Grimm, Clifford Sapp, Chelsie (Zack) Wilson AND great-grandchildren…Parker & Benjamin Grimm, Claire Cromack, Gaelich & Rayden Sapp, Zoey & Zayden Wilson; Sisters- Evelyn Manchester, Donna Caldwell and Janette Miller of Wooster, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert B Sapp, parents Otto and Oreda Miller and siblings, Robert W, Painter G, Dean, Marion “Barney” and Merle Joe Miller.
Her memorial service will be held at Sooner Baptist Church (5824 SE 15th St. Midwest City, OK) at 11am this Saturday, December 7th 2019. There will be a special memorial service held with her extended family at the Prairie Township Cemetery in Holmesville, Ohio in the spring.
