Imo’gene’ Lois Nikkel, 88, crossed into Heaven’s Gates on June 29, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 16, 1928 in Admire, Kansas to Lawrence A and Toletta V. (Chamberlin) Wind. Gene married Warden O. “Lucky” Nikkel in 1946. To this union five children were born, Debora, Larry, Michael, Dawn, and Kenneth.
She was a longtime member of First Christian of MWC. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence A and Toletta V. Wind, her loving husband, Warden O. Nikkel, and brother, Donald Wind.
Survivors include her children, Debora and husband, Douglas, Larry and wife, Dawn, Michael and wife, Nerissa, Dawn and husband, Michael, Kenneth and wife, Cherry; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Kenneth E. Wind.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 6, 2017 at First Christian Church of Midwest City (Disciple of Christ) 11950 East Reno Avenue, Midwest City, OK 73130.
