ImaJean Lou (Vail) Robertson born June 2, 1941, passed away March 17, 2026. ImoJean aka Smidge or Midge was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Midge got her nickname because when she was born she was so small they thought she would be a midget. David Grayson, a nephew could not say Midge so he said Smidge at a young age. The nickname stuck! She loved all her nieces and nephews. Midge loved basketball. She was a 1959 all star player, free throw champion single and double. Hobbies included swimming, water skiing, sewing, painting, fishing, and gardening. She skied from Porum Landing to Henryetta, the Canadian Arrow Head Lodge and back to Porum Landing. She sewn some of Johnna’s clothes and crafted house shoes. She loved picking blackberries and did not want to stop until each one was picked. She remembered picking sand plums on the roadside with her grandsons Casey and Derrick to make plum jelly. All they had to pick the sand plums was a pillowcase. She would never get that pillowcase clean. She was shown a secret fishing spot by Casey and Derrick known as the honey hole. She had so much enjoyment with her grandchildren and loved them more than anything in the world. Midge was a business owner of MR. HOSECO MFG. She was nominated1988 Business Women of The Year by the SE Business Association.
She is survived by her daughter Johnna Roddy and husband Jack, Tammie Rowden, sister-in-law, grandsons Casey and Derrick Roddy, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 18 siblings and her son Douglas Wayne Rowden and her parents Joseph and Minnie Vail.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s in honor of her memory.
