James Gordon Henagar, 72, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed from this life January 8, 2021, a victim of Covid-19. James was born September 7, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas to Ben and Flora Moss Henagar. He was married to Connie Speer Henagar from December 1967 until December 1989 and they were blessed with 2 sons, Timothy and Dewayne. On July 2, 1997, James again married to Pamela (Weeks) Russell.
James graduated from Atoka High School in 1966 and joined the US Air Force in February, 1968. He was honorably discharged in February, 1972 as a Sergeant working as a jet aircraft mechanic. He then began a career of working for Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technology over the next 35 years until retirement.
James enjoyed hobbies of traveling and desert riding on 4-wheelers. He was especially fond of spending time with his family.
James is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pam, and his sons Tim and Dewayne and stepdaughters, Monteshia (Jason) Brakhage and Melissa (Brian) Lynn. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kaitlin, Nikki, and Garrett Lynn, and Jayleigh Work and Maddyn Brakhage. Also surviving him are sisters, Willie Sumner and Ella Marquita (John) Garoni, and brothers, Ben Henagar, Harrold (Helen) Henagar, Carrold (Eddie) Henagar, Donnie (Pat) Henagar and Bill (Donna) Weeks. Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive him.
His parents Ben and Flora Henagar preceded James in death as did sister, Alma Winn, brothers-in-law Morris Winn and Delbert Sumner, and sister-in-law, Norma Henagar.
