

James M. Hope - started his new project in heaven on Friday, March 15, 2013 as he won his short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born on November 30, 1952, to Edward M. and Mary Lou Hope in Oklahoma City, OK, where he lived his entire life. He is survived by his loving, nagging wife, Kathleen, of 42 years; son - Ted & daughter-in-law Dana, granddaughters; Anna, Melissa, & Jessica of Bentonville, AR; son; Terry & daughter-in-law, Monica, granddaughter; Mary Elizabeth & grandson Connor of Oklahoma City; father; Edward M., and two brothers; Eddie & Mike Hope; numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother. He went to Crooked Oak Public Schools and was a member of the 13 year club, where he graduated in May 1971. He then moved on to the University of Hard Knocks, where he recently completed his final earthly project. In June 1971, he went to work for the City of Oklahoma City. He took a military leave of absence for active duty in the U.S. Army National Guard out of Lexington, OK. He later returned to his job with the City, where he retired with 35 years of service. During retirement, he took pleasure in spending more time with his family and friends; he also watched a hell of a lot of John Wayne movies! James was a fine carpenter, handyman and tinkerer! He kept busy on projects around his various properties, even re-tumbling the locks himself! He was generous with his time and could often be found doing things for other people. James was a member of the Del City Demolays, a 32nd degree Mason, a perpetual member of the Del City #536 Masonic Lodge, a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. James was also an assistant Scuba Diving Instructor and "the Maintenance Man". A funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Southeast Chapel at 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
