Jim was a staunch republican, avid OU fan and loved traveling and camping with Corey. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides with family and friends. He cherished his 1973 Classic Ford Mustang Convertible, which he restored and loved showing off around town. One of Jim’s proudest moments was a citation he received commending him for his act of kindness and assistance when he helped a woman with car trouble, which happened to be Senator Helen Cole. But that was Jim; always willing to help family, friends, and even a stranger. Jim was a supervisor at Southwest Electric and previously worked at Conseco Door Company for 24 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Keating. He is survived by his loving wife “Corey” Cora Keating; best friend, Jay Genzer; mother, Arlene Keating; sisters, Patricia Keating-Hilbig Bradford (Dean), Debbie Keating Sinard (Jerry), Sharon Keating Wise (Shawn); brothers, Larry Keating (Cathi), David Keating (Sandy), Robert “Bobby” Keating (Betty); step-children, Clint Walter (Julie), Cassandra Walter, Ashlee Flinn, Harrison Walter (Alyssa); grandchildren, Allen “A.J.” Walter, Cora Zellner, Michael, Zenovia, Kirsten and Kaius Walter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Perry, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
