James Ray Pickett

James Ray Pickett, 95, of Del City passed away May 30, 2018. James was born April 24, 1923 to Cassus Clay and Vera (Costie) Pickett in Marietta, Oklahoma. James graduated from Marietta High School. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy and served his country from 1943 to 1962. James was an avid golfer and loved to be out on the green. He scored a lot of hole in ones. He also loved to hunt with his bird dogs. James was a helicopter pilot and instructor. James loved numbers as he almost had a photographic memory for numbers. This came in handy for his love of playing dominos and bingo. James is survived by his wife, Mary (Coffey) Pickett, of the home, two daughters: Sandra Rosario (Eladio) of Del City, OK, Linda (Glayde) Schroder of Armour, SD, five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Louise Penton of Gainesville, TX, and Doris G. Nichols of Tulsa, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline, son: Wayne Pickett, and two sisters: Gladys Stinson and Cavalin Montgomery. Visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home on from 10am-8pm on Friday June 1, 2018. The family will be receiving visitors from 1pm-3pm. A funeral service will be held 10am Satuday, June 2, 2018 at Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City, OK with burial to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery.
