On August 14, 1975 James Kristopher Shuler was born to Sherry Lynn Williams in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James, affectionately known as Kris, is survived by the his loving wife and best friend, Elizabeth (Murray) Shuler; two children: “Blake” Jonathan Shuler, and Alyssa Shuler; his mother, Sherry (Williams) George; one brother, Jeffrey Graham and his wife Alison; nephew Tucker Graham; niece Marilyn Graham; his grandmother Betty Williams; and many other family members and friends. Kris was preceded in death by his great grandfather and great grandmother, Doc and Duckie Williams; his grandfather James Williams; and his father-in-law John Murray Jr.
Kris was what you would consider an “All American Man”, not only was he proud of his country but did his part my working as an Aircraft Mechanic for the Tinker Air Force Base. He enjoyed politics, which is rare to say the least, and thought it important to know what was going on. He enjoyed having big barbeques and smoking meat and would take any opportunity to feed the masses. Although he was an only child his family spanned far beyond blood relation. Kris had become somewhat of a father figure for many of the neighborhood kids and was always there to give advice, teach them something new, or to just be someone they could confide in. His old fashion morals and open heart was a gift to so many young individuals. Kris never met a stranger, all where welcome into his family.
Kris enjoyed a large variety of music, he could be listening to something from the 60’s and the next minute hard core rock; and due to Kris’s interest in electronics it didn’t matter the genre, it was played loud and proud. Kris loved working on his 73’ model Ford F-250 Custom and sharing his interest in music with his son Blake. Kris had even taught Blake to smoke meat. He found such great pride in his children and the individuals they had become. His tough exterior and beard may have led you to believe that he was a hard core individual but he was truly soft hearted and loving and turned into teddy bear when it came to his precious daughter Alyssa. The amount of love and joy that he has given to his friends and family is a gift that will be cherished and passed on forever. Kris, we love you and miss you, rock on!
