After graduating from Classen High School in 1950, he joined the Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. Jim returned and graduated from OU in 1957. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Jim was owner of Spencer’s IGA in Del City for 30 years, and a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church.
Survived by his loving wife Donna George Spencer of 55 years. 2 daughters; Diana Webb and husband Bobby, Pam Brothers and husband John. Brother Terry Spencer and wife Lynn, Sister-in-law Phoebe Spencer. Grandchildren Danni and husband Jared, Tiffany, Spencer, Kelsie and Andi. Great Grandchildren Kyleigh, Mason, and Dillan.
Preceded in death by his brother Gary, both parents, and step mother Ethelyn Spencer.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sunnylane United Methodist Church in Del City, OK.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, Oct, 3, 2011 at Sunnylane United Methodist Church in Del City with Interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
