Janice Elizabeth Whiteman

Janice Elizabeth Whiteman 63, passed away on April 16, 2016. Janice was born on March 10, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to Warren Hutchisson and Virginia Elizabeth (Jessup) Douglas. On August 28, 1971 she married Michael W. Whiteman and they spent 44 years together. Janice and Michael enjoyed going to the Albuquerque hot air balloon festival. They even made it an annual tradition for 30 years. Janice loved horses and had one horse for 30+ years. She and Michael enjoyed working with stained glass and together they made many beautiful masterpieces. Janice loved to read books by Rita May Brown and listen to Edgar Cruz play the guitar. She loved Edgar Cruz so much that she even got to meet him because she was always at his concerts.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, David Charlie Whiteman. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Michael W. Whiteman; sister-in-laws, Brenda Cooper and husband Steve, Elizabeth Stokesbury and husband Don, and Cordie Ball; brother-in-laws, Gary Whiteman and wife Frankie, Don Whiteman and wife Kaye; special friend, Mary Phillips; and many other family members who will miss her dearly. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Sienna Extended Care, Specialty Hospital of Midwest City, Alliance Hospital, and all of the doctors who helped with her care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
