

Jerry was born on June 24, 1942 in Ponca City, Okla. to James W. Black and Reola Fern (McFadden) Black. He was a baptized believer who loved the Lord. He had a true country soul who found his greatest peace and contentment in the quiet beauty of the great outdoors. Whether he was fly-fishing, canoeing, flying planes, camping, or just relaxing outside, he had a great appreciation for the Lord's creation. He spent many years flying for the Civil Air Patrol along with his loving wife Jojo. They both had a passion for being in the air.
Jerry served others selflessly, never seeking recognition and generously gave his time, talents, and resources to those in need and to the betterment of those around him.
Above all, he was a deeply proud father and grandfather who loved to teach the essential foundations of life; The value of hard work, the importance of integrity, and the honor of standing proud.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Fern Black, Joan "Jojo" Black his beautiful wife of 53 yrs and Jeline Guiles.
Jerry is survived by his brother Neil and Cathy Black, Niece Emily Black, daughter Lisa and Paul LeBlanc, step-daughter Toni and Lonnie McNeal and step-son Jay and Debra Guiles and his grandchildren...Jessica LeBlanc, Jennifer and Brandon Scioneaux, Jamie and Stephen Pearson, Justin LeBlanc, Todd and Brittany Guiles, Aaron Guiles, Lindsey and Joshua McClennahan, Owen and Kelcie Pickard, Ashley and Mason McNeal, Rana Bales and Niki Hanselka. He was also a great-grandfather to Aarilyn, Ava, Parker, Hattie, Gideon, Gatlin, Griffin, Guthrie and Cameron.
Visitation will be held concurrently with the funeral service
at 2:00 pm., Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home 4000 SE 29th St. Del City, Ok 73115 with Pastor Ruffin Snow officiating.
