Jerry Wayne Evans

Jerry was an attendant of Manuel High School and joined the U.S Air Force after graduation. He reached the rank of MSGT in his 26 years of service and earned several good conduct medals before retiring. Jerry enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing the guitar, and diamond art painting, winning first place in the county fair for his artwork. He also enjoyed watching football, baseball, and basketball and in his early years he coached and played softball. Jerry was proud when he bowled a 700 series but his proudest moment was the birth of his children and the adoption of his children.

Jerry married the love of his life, Maureen Evans, on August 16, 1980 and they spent 43 happy years together.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Myrl and Mable Evans; brothers, Donald Evans and Myrle (Billy) Evans; grandchildren, Crystal and Jeffrey Harris. . He is survived by his wife, Maureen Evans of the home; daughters, Dorinda Evans and spouse Timothy A. Freyaldenhoven of Conway, Arkansas, Danna Evans- Johnson and spouse Robert Johnson of Morrilton, Arkansas, Leanne Evans Deal and fiancé Daryl Spencer of Yulee, Florida, and Michelle Evans and fiancé Justin Ayres of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Kevin Evans and spouse Sherry Evans of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Lyle (Gene) Smith and spouse Gail Smith of Port Byron, Illinois. Jerry also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 7 nephews.

Visitation for Jerry will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral Home located at 4000 SE 29th St, Del City, OK 73115. Services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel.
