

Jerry Edward Martin Jr “Sammy” was born July 7, 1964 in Oklahoma City, to Jerry and JoAnne (Duree) Martin and passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home at the age of 59 years. He spent his life living in the Oklahoma City metro area.
Sammy began his career as a mechanic at a young age. He worked in the oilfield and numerous other places as a diesel mechanic, with Monarch being the most recent place of employment. Sammy was an avid fisherman and beer drinker with a crazy and random sense of humor. Anyone that spent time with Sammy knows that if he was not giving you a hard time, something was wrong. Aside from fishing, Sammy also enjoyed listening to music and spending time in his garage. Whether he was working on his motorcycle, hanging out with friends or family, or working on a car, there was always something to keep him busy.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dianna Martin; grandparents, Joseph and Corrine Duree; uncle, Joseph “Teddy” Duree; and cousin, Robert Duree.
Sammy is survived by his fiancée, Judy Mercado; uncle, Buster Duree; cousins, Sherry Kendall and husband, Greg; Barbara Flatt and husband, Gary; Clif Martin; Andy Johnson; and Penny VanWinkle; nieces, Kristina Bate and husband, Robert; Samantha Wandling and husband, Ryan; Kerri Courtney; Melody Kendall; Grace Duree; and Joy Kendall; nephews, Matthew Duree; Travis Duree and wife, Ember; Dakota Duree and wife, Shayla; and Josh Duree. He is also survived by multiple great-nieces and nephews, as well as several other family members and close family friends.
