
Jewell Francis Bennett ,98, was born August 13, 1919, to William Penn and Mary Ethel May Brewer. She passed away July 28, 2017. Jewell loved to paint, crochet, write poetry, and read fine literature. She shared these gifts with many over the years. The impact of her life could not be calculated. She will be remembered in the hearts of many. Johnnie and Jewell were the pioneer pastors of Hilltop Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City. The churches first Sunday began August 13, 1955, Sis Bennett’s birthday. She was still a member at her death. The most important decision she made was to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord of her life. She touched the hearts and lives of many people, her life made a difference. She could echo the words of the Apostle Paul. Jewell is survived by one son Jerry John and wife Peggy Bennett of Huntsville, TX, one daughter Mary and husband John Campbell of OKC,OK, Five grandchildren; Wend Bennett, Chere Lea Bennett, Jerry Allan Campbell, Paul S. Campbell, and Carl David Campbell, five great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. I have fought a good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is a laid up for me the crown of righteousness that the Lord the righteous Judge will give to me on that day. On July 28, Jesus walked into her room, took her hand and said “Jewell, it’s time to go home.” She is home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 2, 2017, at the Hilltop Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
