AThis is a celebration of life for Jimmie Faye Pickard who was called home July 9, 2014. Jimmie was born February 13, 1940 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to James & Flossie Neeley. She was a precious woman; kind, giving and loving. Her love for The Lord radiated in her life. If there was one thing she wanted to share from her life it was that she served an Amazing Lord & Savior and you can too. Jimmie never had a lot of monetarily things but what ever she had she shared with others. Jimmie worked in the cafeteria at Bodine Elementary and Highland Park Elementary for 13 years, what a blessing she was to her coworkers and to each of those little children who passed through her cafeteria line. She loved and enjoyed teaching Awanas and Vacation Bible School in her church in Del City or Westville. The ladies she taught with loved and admired her as much as the children.
Jimmie raised five children with her husband Ralph giving them all the love she could. She lost two baby boys at birth, she never forgot about them. Infact, one of her last wishes was to make sure they had proper headstones on their graves. A mothers love never stops.
This precious woman would give you the coat off her back if you needed one. Some in the family witnessed this actually happen.
Jimmie fought a long battle with pancreatic cancer. I would not even call it a battle, but a journey. She never complained but always found the glimmer of sunshine to warm her face. The doctors, nurses, technicians and many others loved to see her smiling face when she went for her treatments or appointments.
Jimmie found such joy in her family. She loved her grandchildren so much and they knew it. She loved attending their school events, sporting events and just reading to them. The grandchildren loved for Mamaw to read from her old short-story book, each story holding special memories for each child.
Jimmie loved spending time with her brothers and sisters, usually visiting while playing dominoes. You could join in with them if you dared, but they are serious about dominoes.
Her children were the light of her life. She loved each one of them with all her heart and prayed that they would follow God's path for their life.
Jimmie loved her husband Ralph, so much. They were married 56 years on June 28, that's a lot of years. He told us a funny story about them getting married. He met Jimmie the summer before her senior year in high school; but he wouldn't marry her until she graduated because you had to graduate from high school. A simple Godly man married a simple Godly woman from Westville, Oklahoma.
We would like to say thank you Lord, for blessing us with this amazing woman for what we feel was such a short time, but oh what memories she has left us.
We love you Jimmie, Mom and Mamaw!!!!
