Joan Grace Ball Kneebone
Joan was born on February 11, 1932, in West Orange, New Jersey. She passed away on November 3, 2025, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, with her daughter by her side. Joan spent her childhood as the only child of her parents in West Orange, N.J. She attended college in New York City, graduating with a B.S. in nursing. Joan married and moved to Charlton and then to Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake, N.Y. After her divorce, Joan moved to Hollywood, FL. to take care of her retired parents until their passing, still all the while working and obtaining two Master’s degrees.
Joan then spent 11 years in Ecuador, South America as a missionary nurse at age 61. After Ecuador, she went back to Florida and resided in Hobe Sound, still nursing. The last two years of her life she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where she passed over the Jordan River into her forever home and into the arms of her loving savior Jesus the Christ.
Joan is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert M. and Grace M. (Jacobs) Ball; aunts; uncles; cousins; her second born, Nancy; and her “adopted daughter”, Malinda Morgan.
She is survived by her four children; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors are Bob and Kathy Kneebone; Rachael Royea (Nathan), with Caiden, Erin, Jordan, and Matthew; Lauren Kneebone; Robbie (Christina) Kneebone; Ned (Edwin) and Darlene Kneebone; Kimberly (Matt) Berard with Theodore and Madilynn; Jordan Kneebone with Alessandra and Mylia; Nelson and Cindy Kneebone; Lorell S. (William) Lowe; Dawn C. Kneebone; Ryan T. Kneebone; Jeanette and Todd Ryan; adopted family of David and Esther Morgan; Marianne (Brandon) Mills, with Stefan, Chase, Evan, and the late Malinda. She is survived by countless friends.
Joan is a baptized believer in God Almighty with Jesus Christ and the Bible as her guides. She met each valley, trouble, and difficulty on her knees in prayer and her eyes in the Word of God. She always pointed others to find their answers in the same way. Joan had a graceful strength about her, a quiet resolution that drew people to her and high expectations for herself as a nurse, mother, and Christian, which she projected on her children to perform to the highest of their abilities. She seemed to have found the secret in not allowing pain of any kind dictate her living or threaten her future to be with her Lord in Heaven. This was truly evident until her end of life on this Earth.
Joan loved the beach, fishing, reading, knitting, and playing games with family and friends. She was passionate about gardening vegetables and flowers, enjoying ice cream, and talking with all her children every chance she had. She also loved to travel both domestically and abroad. She never stopped learning.
We are all sad to say goodbye to Joan, yet it will be even sweeter when we say hello to her again. So be good and keep the Faith.
