John Henry Sunderland Jr. joined his Heavenly Father on April 24, 2020. He was born in Jasper, Missouri on February 12, 1920 to John H. Sunderland Sr. and Clara E. Scarbrough Sunderland. John married the love of his life Wilma Alieen Mische on April 6, 1947. John celebrated his 100th Birthday in February, and they celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in April. He loved his God, country, family, and friends. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and at Heavenly Heights Southern Baptist Church as an ordained deacon.
John is survived by his wife, Wilma; four children, Karen and (Bob) Herzer, Rainey and (Mike) Turney, Jerry Sunderland, Janet and (Brad) Courtney; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jesse Orman Sunderland.
Viewing will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm Monday, May 4th, 2020 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK.
