

Johnnie Floyd Cottrell, 84, took his last breath on this earth at 12:45 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters. He grew up in Stratford Oklahoma and served two years in the Armed Forces stationed in Korea. he married Betty Lee Buck on November 15, 1942. Johnnie started driving a truck on his parent's farm at the age of 12 and followed a career of driving which included logging over two million miles accident free for Transcon Lines before retiring. After retirement he worked for the several machine shops as a janitor then returned to his love of driving as a tour bus driver for Red Carpet Tours before going on to drive a school bus at Mid-Del Schools for 10 years until his second retirement at the age of 77, He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; 3 daughters, Marsha & Charles Andrews; Darly & Tony Smith; and Sandra & David Goode; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles Cottrell and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Calvary Christian Center in Del City, Oklahoma. Following Military Honors he will be buried in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
