Johnny Gentry, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012. Johnny was born in Oklahoma City to James and Amy Gentry on November 21st, 1931. Johnny served in the Navy aboard the USS Philippine Sea, 1950-1954. He was a long time member of the First Southern Baptist Church, a 50 year member of the IBEW Electricians Union, 27 year member of the Elk’s Lodge Golf Association, and a 20 year member of the Sooner Model “A” Club.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Gentry; sons Tim Gentry and Tony Gentry; grand-daughter, Ashley Wingo and husband Kellen; great-grandson Jaxon Wingo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, Saturday, October 20th, at 10:00 AM, with inurnment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to City Hospice at 942-8999. For more information, please visit www.SunnyLaneFuneralHome.com.
