

He worked for many years in the automotive industry as a service manager before opening his own restaurant, The Rib Shack. John enjoyed collecting trains and pewter figurines, racing cars with his brother Jerry, and could often be found watching a good football game on TV. He was the president of the Lion’s Club for many years, and coached several football, softball and baseball teams while his children were young. Family was very important to John, and he loved any type of family gathering. He will truly be missed by all that knew him and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Curtis Goforth; grandchildren, Michael Goforth and Gary Powers; brothers, Jaycee, Junior, Jimmy, Jean and Jerry Goforth. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Tillie; children, Sana Powers (Gary), Rocky Goforth, Karrie Rodriquez (Eddie), Steven Goforth, Craig Goforth (Autumn); grandchildren, Christina Stewart, Daniel Highsmith (Erica), Kevin Highsmith (Misty), Tristy Wilhite (Tim), Taylor Edwards (Kyle), Anthony Goforth (Sara), Nicholas and Christopher Goforth, Brandy Stone, Summer, Aaron, Ava and Gideon Goforth; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jesse Goforth.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
