Joyce Hendrix passed away on July 21st, 2015 at the age of 91. She was born in Mangum, OK. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1951. Her husband of over 40 years, Doyce Hendrix passed away in 1996. She has lived alone in her home ever since. She is survived by 2 Children; Her Bright Sun, Lewis Hendrix in Baytown, TX and Her Favorite Daughter, Deona Lorenz in Del City. She also had 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. We will all miss her.
When she went fishing with Dad for the first time, they thought she had caught a big fish, but when they pulled it in and it was a snapping turtle.
Joyce loved cats. She would purr with them and sound just like they did. One time a neighbor’s kitten got stuck in a tree and they couldn’t get it down. She went over and started meowing at it like a mother cat would. It came down and right to her.
She didn’t like to go to restaurants, but would love for us to go get fast food and bring it back for her and eat with her.
She was very loving, caring and generous. She was always considering other’s needs over her own. Joyce was also very conservative, not buy things she did not need. She was a wonderful Wife and Mother.
Joyce was well known in the Senior Community. She had become a member of her Neighborhood Watch and delivered News Letters to her neighbors when she was able to do so.
23rd Psalms
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me on the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
