Kyle was born in Yale, OK and eventually moved with his grandmother to a house just outside of OKC, in an area that would later become Del City. After graduating from MWC High School, Kyle met his future wife and mother of his children, Edna Joy Hamon, on a double date. Edna was actually on this date with Kyle’s best friend, but on a subsequent outing, they decided to switch and the rest is history. Kyle and Edna wed on June 14th, 1954. Soon after Kyle opened his first of two gas stations and the happy couple started their family. They bought the very house that he grew up in from his grandmother in Del City. After Kyle retired from General Motors in the mid- nineties, he and Edna spent the days traveling, buying and selling antiques, and spoiling their myriad grandchildren. Kyle also enjoyed watching the horse races, OU and Kansas City Chiefs football. After mourning Edna’s passing in 2000, Kyle was introduced to Janice Southwick. She became his girlfriend,, traveling companion and dancing partner. Janice became an integral part of the family and is considered a beloved friend to Kyle’s children.
Kyle is preceded in death by his mother, Flo Elliott, wife Edna, son-in-law, Michael Arnett, and granddaughter, Andrea Barlow.
He is survived by his children; Larry Barlow, Dianna Arnett, Terry Barlow and his wife Kristen, Gary Barlow and his wife Lainie, grandchildren; Jason and wife Sandra Barlow, Michelle and husband Rocky Jackson, Rachelle Barlow, Heather Taylor, Courtney and husband Andrew Flinton, Trevor Barlow and wife Brynn, Tori and husband Alex Moore, great-grandchildren; Brittany and husband James Pettis, Chase Barlow, Clyde Barlow and wife Solana, Chantz Barlow, Casey Laub and wife Kate, Addyson Jackson, Rokston Jackson, Cayden Barlow, Cayla Barlow, Bayle Foree, Hayle Taylor, Samantha Flinton, Emerson Flinton, Willow Barlow, Sophie Moore, great-great-grandchildren; Milo Foree ,and Henry Pettis.
Kyle had a very special friendship with Lloyd and Carol Selvidge, and Jennifer and Tony Crowell
He never met a stranger and will be loved and cherished by all who knew him.
