Laura Etta Silva (Manuel) of Midwest City, OK passed away June 2, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born August 3, 1924 on a farm in Jamestown, AR., to Dockie Dixon and Josephine (Clementine) Manuel. In 1942, she graduated from DeSha High School and then attended college in Batesville, AR. During WWII she served her country by working at a defense plant in AR. After her family relocated to CA, she worked at the Pine Cone Restaurant in Merced. There she met many Hollywood celebrities who came into the restaurant. Also, this is where she met her husband of 23 years, Richard Silva. She also worked as a telephone operator for several years. After she married, she became homemaker and military wife, living in CA, England and OK. She is survived by her children Richard Silva, Victor and Melanie Silva, Susan and Steve Vaughn, and 4 grandchildren Joseph and Andrea Vaughn, Sarah Vaughn, Brycen Silva, and Chase Silva. Preceded in death by parents. Service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City, OK, with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
