

91, passed away 7 January 2011. He was born 21 September 1919 in Tipton, OK and attended the public schools in Hollister, OK. Upon graduation from Hollister High School in May 1937, he entered Draughons Business School in Oklahoma City and graduated in May 1939. He entered the military service on 13 September 1940, serving in various clerical positions in Guam; Roswell, New Mexico; Stockholm, Sweden; Tinker AFB, Oklahoma; Naples, Italy; Fort Lee, Virginia upon retiring as Senior Master Sergeant in the Crypto Center in the Air Defense Sector, retiring 30 June 1961.
Sergeant King’s awards include the American Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal with two Silver Loops, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters. Leonard was also a lifelong Mason in which he took great pride.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked an additional 18 years in civil service then obtained a Real Estate license and worked until approximately 1995 as a real estate agent with Abide Realty and was their top lister in 1982.
Leonard was a charter member of Country Estates Baptist Church, Midwest City, OK, serving in various responsibilities as a teacher, department superintendent in Sunday School, and Chairman of the Deacons for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dock S. and Ada G. (Fagg) King; and 1 brother: Bruce King.
He is survived by his wife Loyce Maxine King; 2 sons: Michael D King and wife Pam, Stephen D. King and wife Debbie; 2 sisters: Mildred Hullender and Betty Carpenter; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, January 10, 2011 at Country Estates Baptist Church with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
