

Lina Mae Smith, lovingly known to so many as “Gammy,” passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 10, 1942, in Garber, Oklahoma. Lina lived a life full of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Gammy was the heart of her family and truly the life of every party. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and important. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, especially during movie outings with Eugene and Andrew, whom she adored dearly. Her warmth, humor, and joyful spirit created lasting memories that her family will forever cherish.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Steve Housley; her sons and daughters-in-law, William and April Jackson and Michael and Laura Jackson; and her chosen daughter, April and Octavio Mesquita. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Eugene and Christina Jackson, Andrew and Amanda Jackson, Stephen, Tommy, Nakia Jackson, Luke, Sara, and Lauren Jackson; along with her treasured great-granddaughters, Saquora and McKenzie Jackson, and many other chosen grandchildren whom she loved deeply. Her Cousin and partner in crime Judy Tunis, and all extended family and loved ones.
Lina is also survived by her siblings: her twin sister, Leila Gardner; Henrietta Clark; Will and Mary Joe Williams; and Susie.
Gammy’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, strength, and unconditional love. Though her family’s hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort knowing she passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home At Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115, US, on June 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
