Lisa Sun Jessee, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on June 22, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born Chong Sun Pak on August 15, 1935, in Kyongnam-Do, Korea. Lisa spent her early years in Japanese-occupied Korea and witnessed the nation's liberation in 1945, followed by the formation of the Republic of Korea.
Lisa served as a telephone operator for the Administrative Telephone Exchange of the 2146 Communications Group at Osan Air Base from 1956 to 1964. In 1964, she emigrated to the U.S., settling first in Plant City, Florida, and then moving to Midwest City, Oklahoma, in 1967. She became a proud citizen of the United States in October 1970.
Lisa began working as a waitress at the NCO Club on Tinker Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life, Senior Master Sgt. William “Bill” Jessee. The two were married in Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 2, 1976. In 1979, they bought their longtime home on SE 55th Street in Oklahoma City, where Lisa was a devoted and meticulous homemaker for the rest of her life. Lisa will be remembered by her loving church family and friends.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Jessee; her stepchildren, Jeffrey Jessee and Sharla Clemenson; and her niece, Yong Suk Evans. Funeral services will be held on July 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation at OMRF.org.
