

During her younger years, she was the teenager that enjoyed hanging out with her friends, listening to music, and it was during this time that she started developing a passion for reading. She met the love of her life, James W. Waters and the two shared almost 50 years together before his passing in 2012. Lucy enjoyed working crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, dancing, drinking her coffee, watching westerns and Jeopardy, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; siblings, Barbara Brewer, Bill and Harry Bernard. Survivors include her grandchildren, Michelle Sturdivant, Mesha Hahn, Crisha Alexander, Stephanie Hahn, Rande Hahn, Candace Gardner, Kristy Finch; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Chase, Carson and Caden Sturdivant, Geren, Jesse, Cameron and Jazmen Hahn, Micky Malone, Kaylee Alexander, Elizabeth Poppell, Jack and Charlie Finch; great-great-grandson, Adrian; siblings, Mary Catherine Bernard, Johnny Bernard and wife, Harriet, George Bernard and wife, Carolyn.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
