Luella Catherine Goforth, 96, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away May 13, 2013. She was born in Nashoba, Oklahoma, to William S. and Annie E. Fuller. She spent her childhood days enjoying the beautiful mountains and rich farmlands of southeastern Oklahoma and continued to have great pride in Oklahoma where she lived her entire life. Central to her life’s accomplishments was her continuous desire to provide a home on her 2 ½ acre homestead for herself and her five children which she raised only through the efforts of herself. She was admired by all who knew her for her dedication, determination, and hard work to succeed in providing for her children and instilling in them the importance of education. She had achieved promotion to the ninth grade prior to having to leave her beloved school to provide work on the family farm. Marriage brought her to her home in Oklahoma City, where she endured the loss of two of her children, Wilma Olean Goforth and later Don Henry Goforth. Her three surviving children are Sue Ellen Moore of Las Vegas, Nevada, Shirley Kay Lassiter of Moore, Oklahoma, and Gary Lynn Goforth of Mansfield, Texas. Her sense of pride in accomplishments was highlighted in her thirty years of loyal manual labor at Tinker Air Force Base which eventually enabled her to enjoy in retirement her grandchildren: David Moore, Robyn Kinard, Shonda Lassiter, Ryan Goforth, and Christopher Goforth, along with her three great- grandchildren. Luella’s family will receive friends, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, Del City, Oklahoma with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, Oklahoma.
