Lydia Mary Bruehl Foote was born Oct. 1925, the sixth child of Herman & Ida Stottman in Sterling, OK. Was raised in Anadarko, OK and in 1943 graduated from high school at St. Patrick Mission. In 1945, she met Martin J. Bruehl at her sister Lucy’s wedding. Lydia and Martin were married in 1946, and lived on a farm in Norman, OK, until they moved in 1952 to Okla. City, when Martin got a job at TAFB. Together they had 5 sons. After Martin died in 1967, Lydia went to work at the OK Tax Commission and worked at a second job with H&R Block, where she met Justice B. Foote (JB). They got married in 1976. Lydia worked at the OTC until 1980, when she retired so she and JB could do some traveling. Their travels included a trip to Rome, Italy. Lydia a devoted Catholic did volunteer work at the St. Joseph Old Cathedral teaching religion education to adults and children. She also volunteered at the Will Rogers Senior Center, crocheted baby boot s and made baby blankets for Birth Choice. After JB died in 2002, she continued her volunteer duties and after 40 years of volunteer work she retired in 2015. In 2019, she moved in with her son Frank and wife Jan Bruehl & transferred to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Moore .
Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Martin J. Bruehl, and Justice B. Foote, brothers, Bernard, Joseph & Herman Stottman & four sisters, Mary Hayden, Anna Kobza, Sister Agnes Stottman & Lucy Bruehl. Three sons, Robert J. Bruehl, Alfred S. Bruehl, Steven L. Bruehl, step-daughter, Susan Foote, step-sons, Rex Foote & Jim Foote.
She is survived by two sons, Frank C. Bruehl & wife Jan, Michael J. Bruehl & wife Faith, daughter-in-law Sandy Bruehl, sisters-in-law Lola & Charlene Stottman, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews.
Spare time she enjoyed crocheting and working “zigsaw “ puzzles.
