

Margie Browning Jones, “Marge”, 82, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on January 6th, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born June 26, 1932 in Dill City, Oklahoma, to Theodore and Minnie Mae (Bob) Browning. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela E. Jones, and her son-in-law, Dr. David Hess, Prescott, AZ; her sister, Betty Lowder & sisters-in-law Nancy Browning, of Kansas; Mary Jones, Mildred Jones, Elsie Jones, and Vida Prather, of Oklahoma; as well as many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45-years, Charles E. Jones, and by an infant son, Shannon Ray Jones; by her parents, Ted and “Bob” Browning; her sister, Billie Major; her brother, Jim Browning, as well as her mother and father-in-law, Riley and Myrtle Jones, and many brother and sister-in-laws. Marge graduated Valedictorian from Dill City High School in Dill City, Oklahoma. Marge was a career woman, working mostly for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy as an executive secretary, at U.S. Naval Base, San Diego; Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma; K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan; NAS Jacksonville, Florida; and NAVSEA in Washington, D.C. She and Charles lived in many different locations across the country including California, Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas, Florida, Washington, DC, Georgia, and Louisiana. She moved to Prescott in 2002 to be near her daughter and son-in-law. Marge was a voracious reader and loved to discuss politics, current events, or history. She loved animals of all kinds; she was a whiz at crossword puzzles or Scrabble; she loved football and was a diehard Packers fan; and she especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter and son-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, Oklahoma at 12:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2015 with internment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens. The service will be conducted by Pastor Lee Wiggins, Senior Pastor of Calvary Fellowship, Downington, PA. Local arrangements were handled by Hampton Funeral Home. The family would like to give a special thanks to Lindsey Galion, Rhonda Babbitt, Yvonne Rosas, Carole Diegan, and Phyllis & Jerry Robinson who all gave special care to Marge during her illness; as well as Susan Perkins, RN, and Mila Montoya of Granite Mountain Hospice.
