

Marion M. Walker of Moore, OK passed away April 20, 2011. He was born on January 3, 1926 in Blooming Grove, Texas, Navarro County to Joseph and Mamie Walker. He graduated from Foster High School afterwards serving in the Army during WWII from 1943 - 1946. Upon returning home, he married Jimmie Lee Guy on June 21, 1946. During their sixty-four years together, they had five children: Gary L. Walker (deceased), Marion L. Walker of Del City, Janice Morrison of Kansas City, MO, Linda Miller and Paul Walker of Moore. Marion retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 33½ years of civil service as an aircraft inspector. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie; sons, Marion and Paul; daughters, Janice and Linda; and sisters, Kathryn Quick of Choctaw and Anna Pope of Del City. He has eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Marion enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was an ordained minister who served the Lord for 13½ years ministering to those in nursing homes and meeting the needs of others by sharing God’s love with them. He also served as a Reserve Deputy for Oklahoma County for over 15 years. His family was important to him and he loved life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary Lynn, brothers, Wayne, Billy Joe and Robert Walker; sisters, Vera Field and Nadine Martin. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but we know he’s now in the presence of God and those have gone before him. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Sunny Lane Chapel.
