Mark Joseph Patnaude was born on July 25, 1959 in Duluth, Minnesota and passed away on May 31, 2019 in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the young age of 59 from complications resulting from his colon surgery. Mark was raised with his three Brothers; Jeff Patnaude married to Corina (from OKC), Greg Patnaude married to Carol (from Harrah), Bobby Patnaude married to Ruth (from Colorado Springs, CO), Step Sister Rhona Freeman married to Paul (from Harrah), and his Sister Michelle Pitman married to Marvin (from Harrah). Mark’s parents Roberta Ingram (married to John in Guthrie) and Robert Patnaude (married to Sharon in Shawnee) brought him into this world in Duluth, Minnesota. He was a great son, brother, uncle, and never met someone who wasn’t a friend or considered family to him. As the oldest of the family he had big shoes to fill. He had to show the others how to be kind, caring, and respectful. And he did just that. He always thought of everyone’s birthday and celebrated them by sending everyone a nice or funny birthday card.
Mark graduated from Star Spencer High School in May of 1977. That following year in 1978 Mark and Allen Sinclair went into the Army under the Buddy System and served 3 years at Fort Hood, Texas.
After that Mark went onto other adventures like getting married to Christy in May of 1985 and they were together for 20 years. Although he never had kids his heart was always full of love for his nieces and nephews and of course his fur babies. Mark loved animals and as recent was never without his boston terrier “Mitzi”. They were inseparable. She went everywhere with him.
Mark also went back to college in 1990 to receive his degree in accounting as a CPA. He later branched off and learned the family business of repairing and mending watches and clocks. He was able to establish his own repair facility in Guthrie, Oklahoma for six years. Mark proved himself as a valuable resource for his customers in repairing watches and clocks.
In his free time Mark enjoyed riding his Harley every chance he could. A lot of the times he would ride with his brother Jeff. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking on the grill, traveling to see family, fishing and of course watching OU or the Minnesota Vikings football. His favorite holiday was Halloween and he decorated his entire house and yard with all sorts of scary Halloween decorations. Everyone enjoyed seeing what he added every year. His next favorite holiday was playing the role of Santa Claus Christmas Eve to all the children in the family. Every year he would dress up as Santa, bring in tons of gifts for all the nieces and nephews and pass them out individually so everyone received a special snapshot with Santa! Everyone in the family looked forward to this tradition. All the kids grew up knowing it was him. Sometimes his deep voice would give him away, or maybe it was Mitzi following right close behind him???
