

Martha Lou Thompson, 85, passed away on August 17, 2011. Martha was born May 27, 1926 in Sheffield, AL to Alfred A. and Martha Lee (Jones) Tudor. She worked for the Federal Government and retired after 38 years of service. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings (her fried chicken was the best), playing dominoes, traveling, reading “quoting” the Bible.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel R. Thompson; great-grandson, Cody La Flamme; three brothers and five sisters. Survivors include her children, Carley R. Thompson (Nancy), Scharleane Stotts (Gordon), Shelley T. Missildine (Jerry); grandchildren, Wendy Webb (Billy), David La Flamme, Christie Dunn (Sean), Michael Missildine, Gina Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Jordan Webb, Emily, Stephanie, McKenzie La Flamme, Braden and Jaycie Nicholas, Gavin Missildine, Tristan Hutchison, Lauren and Blake Dunn.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Betty Maxie “momma’s special angel” and caregiver, Dr. Natalie Esparza and assistant Brenda, Dr. Gary Dickinson, all which gave her special attention and love the last 7 ½ years. Also, to the Edmond Mansion’s and Jefferson Garden’s, Martha felt a great deal of love from the staff at both facilities and the family is forever grateful for the compassion and love everyone showed our mother.
