She was born September 8, 1937, to James and Mary Whitson in Haworth, OK. She married Don Brewington in June of 1953 and had two daughters, Debra and Jeanne. She was a devoted housewife and a loving mother and wife who enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved cooking, reading was her passion and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and always getting the answers right. Most of all, she loved her family dearly.
Mary, also known as “sister” by her siblings, is survived by her daughter, Jeanne and her three grandchildren, Kristie Lynn, DJ and wife Christie Dawn, and Anthony; five great grandsons, Devin, Jake, Blade, Hunter, and Darenger; two great-great grandsons, Silas and Ruger; two brothers, Darrel and Daffes; two sisters, Paulette and Jaquita; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Don; daughter, Debra; parents, Jimmy and Mary Whitson; two brothers, Jimmy and Gerald; three sisters, Marilyn, Dessie, and Danna.
She will be greatly missed by all.
A Graveside Service will be held at Dale Cemetery in Shawnee, OK 74804, on July 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
