Mary Katherine “Kay” Fisher, age 69, went to be with the Lord on March 20, 2015. Kay was born June 30, 1945 to Maurice and Willie Carpenter from Ada, OK. She grew up in Oklahoma City, Ok and was a long time resident of Del City, OK. She married Sammy Lee Fisher on January 3, 1961. To this union, two sons were born, Johnny Lee and Sammy Maurice.
Kay is preceded in death and welcomed with open arms by her beloved son “Maurice”, both of her parents and 1 sister, Anne Brown.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sammy Lee Fisher; son, Johnny Fisher and wife Treva; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Miranda Hood and her children, Olivia and Erica Hood, Jeremiah and Sarah Fisher, their children, Jacob, Zackery, and Braylee Fisher; 2 sisters, Janet Muse, Bobby Keith and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Kay retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
When Kay went to sporting events, she was the loudest relative in the bleachers. She had the kindest heart, she never met a stranger and if you gave her one minute, she would give you her whole life story. If she knew you, she made it her mission to see that you never wanted for anything. You never left her house without a heart full of love and more stuff that you could carry. The thrift store will miss her greatly.
Kay’s funeral services will be held on March 24, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel at 11:00 a.m., with graveside service to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery. Reverend Stanley Konopinski will be officiating.
