Mary Louise Jones, 93, passed away on October 3, 2018. She was born June 16, 1925 in Thomas, OK to Benjamin N. and Hattie L. Kraybill (Redemske). She grew up on a farm in Thomas, OK that was homesteaded by her grandparents in The Land Run. Mary enjoyed quilting, reading, and chocolate. She was well known for her detailed quilts that she would make for her family. Mary even took college courses in quilting to perfect her skills. She graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK with her bachelor’s degree in education. After graduating, Mary became an elementary school teacher in Texas and Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, she taught in the Crutcho and Moore Public School Systems. After retiring, Mary took advantage of travel from going to Canada, The Panama Canal, and on any cruises with her friends. There were times that she would travel for up to 30 days at a time! Mary enjoyed her water aerobics classes at the YMCA and was a lifetime member of the T.O.P.S program which stands for Taking Pounds Off Sensibly. Mary had a close network of friends at the Brookhaven Mansions who would always have their meals together and play Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Riley Jones; sons, Robert Ray Jones and Kenneth Wayne Jones; siblings Benjamin, Daniel, Paul, Jesse, and John Kraybill. Survivors include her grandson, Brian Jones and wife Elizabeth; great-granddaughters, Olivia, Sophia, and Lydia Jones; sister-in-law, Mildred Jones; daughter-in-law, Deborah Perkins and husband Philip; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, OK.
