Mary Jo "Jodie" Newsom

Mary Jo “Jodie” Newsom, 89, of Del City, OK passed away April 3, 2016. She was born December 6, 1926 in Maud, OK to Hiram Green White and Anna (LeCompte) White. She married Raymond Avis Newsom December 27, 1947, in Oklahoma City, OK, after 3 days of knowing each other. Jody was a Practical Nurse at Midwest City Clinic and Casper-Porter Clinic for many years. She was a member of Del City Church of Christ for 62 years.

Jodie is survived by her daughter Cheryl Bigham; grandchildren Christina Moore, Cynthia Mills, Ciara Thelen, Christopher Newsom, Jeff Newsom and Travis Newsom; great-grandchildren, Acaia Mills, Dragen Mills, Scott Mills, Grail Mills, Abby Thelen, Hanna Thelen, Colin Thelen, Abby Newsom, Gage Newsom, Lauren Newsom, Owen Newsom, and Emily Newsom.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; son Michael Newsom; sisters Geraldine Hansen, Edith Smith, Christine Simons and Mada Bassett; brothers, Hiram “Buddy” White and Teddy White.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Del City Church of Christ with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
