

Mary was born in the farming community of Marlow, OK. She was the third of 8 children born to Watkins and Clellie Winchester. After spending much of her youth in Marlow, her parents decided that farming could no longer sustain the family so they moved to OKC in hopes of finding better employment opportunities. She met her first husband, Rex Davenport, and gave birth to her first child, Rex Daryl, in July of 1947, but by August 1947, she lost her beloved mother. A daughter Marilyn Kay Davenport was born 2 yrs. later and her first marriage ended. While waitressing at Beverly’s in OKC she met Bobbie Van Perdue, a handsome young policeman, and married him on Dec. 10, 1952. They were blessed with a daughter Debra Gail, and son Rudy Wayne Perdue. Her hobbies were get-togethers with family and friends, gardening, Vegas vacations with her husband, and singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, son Rex and daughter Marilyn, sisters; Fern Morgan and Cleta Teehee, brothers; Benny and Coy Watkins. Survivors are daughter Debra Bennett and son Rudy, granddaughter Lindsey Einer (Ryan), great-grandchildren Marty and Michael Einer, sisters; Lois Sutton and Hazel Mealor, and brother Larry D. Watkins, and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. Wed. Jan. 6 at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
