Mary attended both the Pentecostal and Assembly of God Church’s throughout her life. She worked in the VA hospital for many years as a nurse’s aide, and took great pride in caring for others. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and babysitting her great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Vernon Allen Pierce; daughter, Glenda Groenveld; siblings, Rueben and Donnie Eugene Clayton, and Madeline “Virgie” Talbott. Survivors include her children, Max Allen Pierce and Patsy Ann Pierce; Grandchildren, Staci and Laurie Pierce, Max Allen Pierce, Jr., Michael, Amy and Jacob Groenveld; many great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Carolyn Farmer and Wiley Edward “Shorty” Clayton.
