

Mildred met and married the love of her life, Lyle Nickels, on December 22, 1952. Together, they built a beautiful life in Del City, raising six children and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. Later, they moved to Pink, Oklahoma, where Mildred’s passion for gardening, canning, and farm life truly blossomed. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her home was always open, warm, and full of stories.
She and Lyle shared 51 wonderful years together before his passing in 2003. Her life was marked by simple joys—like monitoring the church bus and diving into her love of reading, especially Stephen King novels. Mildred’s personal library was impressive, and she passed on her love of books to her family.
Mildred lived a full and joyful life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Lyle, her grandson James, daughter-in-law Debbie and son-in-law Gary.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
