Murphy Bowman was born on June 18, 1923 in Johnson City, TN. He passed away in Moore, Oklahoma on February 26, 2019. He attended the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, upon being an orphan at the age of 7 years old. Murphy served in U.S. Army Air Corp and U.S. Air Force and worked at McMahan's Furniture after his military retirement.. His hobbies included deep sea fishing and model building.
One of his favorite vacations included the Burtonwood Assoc Reunions. His greatest achievements was landing at Utah Beach on D-Day and he fought his way across Europe. He was a part of the Missle Man program, loading them into the silos at Minor AFB North Dakota. He also received a Commendation medal for his actions at Minot.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Olive Bowman. His children; Robert Bowman and spouse Vinceen and Paul Bowman and spouse Michelle. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Ryan Bowman, Kathryn Bowman, and Kayleigh Bowman. He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert Bowman and Aria Knuckles and his daughter Christine passed in June 2017.
Survived by his family, Mary "Olive" Bowman, Robert Bowman and wife Vinceen and Paul Bowman and wife Michelle; Ryan Bowman, Kathryn Bowman and Kayleigh Bowman
Preceded in death by his parents; siblings and daughter Christine.

Olive, So very sorry for your loss. I can always remember Murphy with a smile on his face. Loved hearing his stories from the War and how the two of you met. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Wade, Valarie, Jessica, Jacob and Adriane.
