

Murray 'Corkey' Johns, an 88-year-old resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on January 19th, 2023. Born February 20th, 1934, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, he was the son of Murray Claude Johns and Lola Mae Raney.
Corkey graduated from Midwest City High School in 1952. He worked for the IRS and retired after 35 years. He is a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Midwest City. He enjoyed playing pinochle with family, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working in the yard, and watching OU sporting events; he loved eating all the sweets and cookies he could find. He was a kind-hearted and sentimental person with an infectious laugh that will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty years, Jane Johns, his parents, and his brothers, Donald Ray Johns and Pete Raney. Survivors include his sister Sue Raney of Midwest City, OK, daughter Deborah and her husband, Buddy Sayre, of Del City, OK. Son, Randall, and his wife, Robin Johns of Edmond, OK. Brother Billy Johns, of Dexter, New Mexico. Five grandchildren, Sarah and her husband William McFadden of Fountain, Colorado; Amanda and her husband Josh Rauls of Conway, Arkansas; Cheri Johns of Midwest City, OK; Kayeleen and her husband Joe Gonzalez of Midwest City, OK; and Conner Johns of Midwest City, OK and eleven great-grandchildren.
